Ventilation is generally defined as the replacement of stale air by fresh or outside air. Satisfactory ventilation means comfortable atmosphere, although an exchange of fresh for stale air is not necessarily required.

By fresh air is meant air that is relatively free from such impurities as dust, microbes, toxic gases and objectionable odours.

 

Ventilation

The term ventilation is used to mean the free passage of clean air in a structure. In other words, the removal of all vitiated air from a building and its replacement with fresh air is known as ventilation.

The following factors affect the ventilation.
